McDonald’s Workbooks

The Client: fourimpact are a small, dedicated team with a passion for delivering tailored bespoke communications.

The Brief: fourimpact secured a commission to produce the new McDonald’s Workbooks and asked Square Halo to work in partnership with them to create something unique and exciting. McDonald’s required a design that was friendly and stimulating, something that would keep the Apprentices interested throughout the period of their training and development.

The Solution: We wanted the books to represent the age and development of the staff so the two Apprentice books took on the feel of a magazine and home study environment. The pages featured images of pencils, post-its and scrunched up paper scattered around a desk communicating study while the water bottles and food represented healthy lifestyle. The Crew Trainer workbook took on the style of a ring bound book and the Training Manager workbook design reflected the senior position of those using it, this was designed in the style of a leather bound filofax.

Bright colours and fun engaging graphics were brought together to create a highly successful and unique workbook experience. The group of books worked well together and represented the variety of uses for which they were created in a compelling and unique style.
