The Square Halo team swapped running a successful new business for running for charity when they took part for the first time in the Essex Race for Business. Grant Harris, Simon Webb and Mike Hayward were among 2,015 other runners from businesses across Essex in a three and a half mile
race starting from Chelmsford Town Centre.
The race raises funds for the Helen
Rollason Heal Cancer Charity and was started by former
England and West Ham footballer Sir Trevor
Brooking. The winner, Will Wright of Baker
Tilly, completed the run in 17 minutes and
11 seconds and the Square Halo team was led
home by Grant in a very respectable time
of 22.49 with Mike and Simon just a minute
behind.
Also in June 2008, Grant and Mike
added to their sporting prowess by taking
part in gruelling triathlon events which
involve long-distance running, swimming and
cycling. Grant successfully completed the
Blenheim Place Triathlon in Oxfordshire while
Mike also did well in finishing the Grays
Triathlon in Essex.
